is a brand new independent community music project for Minehead launched January 2026. Newbies are really welcome and you can join any time you don't need to have been there at the beginning.

The band will also play out and about during the summer months down on the seafront, harbour and around the town.
New Members
No experience is required and you can join us any time and you will be supported and made very welcome by everyone else in the band. Just enjoy the fun of group rhythm making in this wonderful South American tradition, so popular worldwide. We play a mixture of traditional, pop and and latin influenced songs that can be easily adapted to samba band. We meet once a week (see below for times) but you are not obliged to attend every session. You only pay for the sessions you attend.
Tutorials, Songs and more information for Newbies
It is important that all newbies read our tutorials, particularly those concerning our values and what community music offers our town as well as our visitors and others who might just be passing through. Tutorials One and Seven are very important. There's also guide songs here to listen to - they are not 100% accurate but a good place to start.

Rehearsal Times and Venue
We rehearse at The Minehead Eye every Monday. Two sessions are available at 4 pm and 7pm. You are welcome to attend either. Occasionally we rehearse at the United Reformed Church Hall at the junction of Irnham Road and Bancks Street.
SUBS INFORMATION
This is an independent community project with no outside funding. You only pay for sessions that you attend. £5-Adults £3-Children* £10-Families
You can pay in cash on the night or online by Bank Transfer.
Please note children who are keen to learn are very welcome. Anyone fourteen or under must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Please note there is quite a lot of learning involved which takes time, concentration and a little patience.

There are currently sixty five members and new members are always welcome. Not everyone can be there every week so come and support us - the more the merrier !
